Kuchipudi Dance Classes

Natya Bharathi is focused towards raising awareness about Indian classical dance form, Kuchipudi through instructional classes and performances. The training includes two sets of basic steps (adugulu), combined with Jathis set to different “Jaathis” and speeds. Basic and Advanced items (songs) are set to a particular raga and jaathi. Students of Natya Bharati have been actively participating at different local events. Smt. Aparna Nadendla, of Natya Bharathi Kuchipudi Dance Academy, in Monroe is the disciple of famous Kuchipudi exponant, Parmasri Dr. Shobha Naidu garu. Smt Aparna has widely performed in many places all over India and in the US. She holds the prestigious Natya Visharada from Kuchipudi Art Academy, in Hyderabad. She uses dance as a medium of expression to raise cultural awareness among the community. Kuchipudi is one of the classical dance forms of the South India. Kuchipudi derives its name from the Kuchipudi village of Andhra Pradesh. In the seventeenth century the Kuchipudi village was presented to the Brahmins, who were experts in staging dance and drama. Kuchipudi exhibits scenes from the Hindu Epics, legends and mythological tales through a combination of music, dance and acting. Like other classical dances, Kuchipudi also comprises pure dance, mime and histrionics but it is the use of speech that distinguishes Kuchipudi's presentation as dance drama.

Rangla Punjab Academy was founded on September 13, 2014 with classes starting in the Woodbridge location. Academy Coach/Founder Sukhvir Singh wanted to continue his passion for bhangra after college. Rangla Punjab Academy was formed on the purpose to bring together kids from our Punjabi community and communities alike to teach traditional Punjabi folk bhangra and instill Punjabi values and morals in our kids. Rangla Punjab Leaders hope to serve as great role models for our kids offering advice in Bhangra, Academics, and Career planning. We treat all our students as great friends and families and form close bonds with them. We hope to get them excited about bhangra and dancing as we are ourselves. We have teachers with great amount of experience dancing and performing on stages and can offer great direction, leadership, and experience to all our dance students.
